How to Become a Princess Babysitter in Orlando (and Actually Get Paid for It)
If you love working with kids and have a flair for performance, princess babysitting might be the best side hustle you have never heard of.
Enchanted Childcare is building a team of princess babysitters in Orlando and Tampa who earn $90 to $120 per booking to do something most people would consider genuinely fun: show up to a family's hotel room or home dressed as a beloved princess, spend a few hours playing with their kids, and head home.
Here is what you need to know.
What Is a Princess Babysitter?
A princess babysitter is a background-checked, vetted childcare provider who arrives in character as a princess and provides real babysitting services. Not a quick birthday party appearance. Full evenings of childcare, storytelling, games, and imaginative play while the parents are out. Learn more about how it works in our complete guide to princess babysitting.
The base booking is three hours. You handle everything a good babysitter handles (snacks, bedtime, keeping the kids safe and happy) while staying in character.
How Much Do Princess Babysitters Make?
Starting pay is $90 per three-hour booking ($30 per hour). As you build your review score, you move into higher tiers: $100 per booking at the Royal tier ($33 per hour, after 5 reviews with a 4.8+ star average), $110 per booking at the Diamond tier ($37 per hour, after 10 reviews with a 4.8+ average), and $120 per booking at the Crown tier ($40 per hour, after 25 reviews with a 4.8+ average).
You also earn extra for add-ons. If a family books extra hours, you earn additional pay per hour. If you pick up a reassigned booking within 48 hours of the start time, you receive a $15 bonus on top of your normal payout.
You set your own schedule and choose which bookings to accept. There is no minimum number of hours required per week. It is a 1099 independent contractor position, so you have full flexibility.
Who Is a Good Fit?
You do not need to be a college student to apply. Enchanted Childcare welcomes sitters from all backgrounds. That said, we do recruit from colleges across Central Florida, including UCF, Valencia College, Rollins College, Full Sail, USF, and the University of Tampa. Theater, education, early childhood development, and hospitality backgrounds are all great fits, but they are not requirements.
What matters most is that you are great with kids, comfortable performing in character, and reliable. If you have babysitting experience, a theater background, or have worked with children in any capacity, you are already a strong candidate.
You will need to pass a comprehensive background check before your first booking. The platform covers the cost.
What Princess Characters Can I Play?
The current princess roster includes Elsa, Anna, Rapunzel, Belle, Moana, Tiana, Cinderella, the Fairy Friend, the Playroom Teacher, and Ariel. Most sitters start with one character and add more over time. See the full lineup on our princess characters page.
You are matched to characters based on your look, personality, and comfort level. The platform helps you find the right princess match.
We also recruit superhero babysitters if capes are more your style. Check out our superhero character roles.
Do I Need to Provide My Own Costume?
Yes. As an independent contractor, you provide your own costume. The platform provides an approved vendor list, and a solid starter costume typically runs around $50. Think of it as a small upfront investment that pays for itself after your first booking.
What Does the Onboarding Look Like?
Every sitter completes a training program before their first booking. It is self-paced and broken into modules covering how the booking and payment system works, character performance tips, safety protocols and emergency procedures, and platform policies. Each module ends with a short knowledge check. It is designed to make sure you feel confident and prepared, not to waste your time.
