Princess and Superhero Babysitters in Tampa: Date Night, Solved
Tampa parents, this one is for you.
Orlando gets all the attention when it comes to character experiences for kids, but Tampa families deserve a night out too. And finding a babysitter you actually trust in the Tampa Bay area can be just as difficult as anywhere else, especially when you want someone who is going to do more than sit on your couch and scroll their phone for four hours.
Enchanted Childcare brings princess and superhero babysitters to families across Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and the surrounding communities. Same vetted sitters, same character experience, same flat-rate pricing as our Orlando service. Here is how it works and why Tampa families are booking.
Why Tampa Families Love Character Babysitters
In Orlando, character babysitting is often a vacation luxury. Parents visiting the theme parks book a sitter for one special night during their trip. It is a one-time experience.
In Tampa, the dynamic is different. Tampa families are booking character babysitters as their go-to sitter for regular date nights, not just special occasions. Once your kids experience a princess or superhero spending the entire evening with them, they do not want to go back to a regular babysitter. They start asking when the next one is coming.
That is the difference between a vacation service and a local service. In Tampa, Enchanted Childcare is not a novelty. It is the answer to "how do we get a night out without the guilt and the tears at the door?"
Where We Serve in Tampa Bay
Enchanted Childcare covers the entire greater Tampa Bay area, including:
Tampa. South Tampa, Hyde Park, Bayshore, Channelside, Westchase, Carrollwood, New Tampa, Tampa Palms, and everywhere in between. Whether you live in a Davis Islands bungalow or a Westchase subdivision, a character babysitter can come to your door.
St. Petersburg. Downtown St. Pete, the beaches, Old Northeast, Snell Isle, Shore Acres, and the surrounding neighborhoods. St. Pete families booking for waterfront dinner dates is one of our most popular use cases.
Clearwater and the beaches. Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, Dunedin, Safety Harbor, and the Pinellas County beach communities. If you are heading out to dinner on the beach and need a sitter, we cover the area.
Brandon, Riverview, and Hillsborough. The growing suburbs east and south of Tampa, including Brandon, Riverview, Valrico, FishHawk, and Lithia. These neighborhoods have a huge concentration of young families, and the demand for quality childcare on date nights is real.
Wesley Chapel and Pasco County. The fast-growing corridor north of Tampa, including Wesley Chapel, Land O' Lakes, Lutz, and the Wiregrass area. Plenty of young families, not enough great babysitter options.
What Occasions Do Tampa Families Book For?
Date nights. This is the most common booking by far. Friday or Saturday evening, parents want a few hours out, and the kids get a princess or superhero for the night. Everyone wins.
Anniversary dinners. A character babysitter turns a regular anniversary evening into something special for the whole family. Parents get a real night out, and the kids get an experience instead of feeling left behind.
Weddings and events. Tampa families book character babysitters for weddings where they need childcare during the reception. Instead of hiring a generic event babysitter, the kids get a character experience that keeps them engaged and entertained for hours. Same goes for holiday parties, fundraisers, and other adult events where kids need supervision.
Birthday parties. A character babysitter at a birthday party does more than a standard party character appearance. She stays for the entire party, manages the kids in character, and gives parents the freedom to actually enjoy hosting. Read more about princess birthday parties and superhero birthday parties.
Parents' night out groups. Some Tampa neighborhoods organize group date nights where several families go out together and pool childcare. A character babysitter (or a duo with both a princess and a superhero) is perfect for these setups. The base booking covers up to three children, and you can add a second character for $149 if you have four or more kids (six children maximum with two characters).
Available Characters in Tampa
Tampa families have access to the full character roster. The princess lineup includes characters inspired by Frozen (Elsa and Anna), Tangled (Rapunzel), Beauty and the Beast (Belle), Moana, The Princess and the Frog (Tiana), Cinderella, the Fairy Friend, the Playroom Teacher, and The Little Mermaid (Ariel).
The superhero lineup includes characters inspired by Spider-Man, Batman, Captain America, Black Panther, Buzz Lightyear, Thor, Peter Pan, Superman, The Flash, and Robin.
For siblings with different interests, the duo add-on ($149) lets you book a princess and a superhero together. The Frozen sisters (Elsa and Anna) are also a popular duo for families with multiple kids who all share the same obsession.
How Much Does a Character Babysitter Cost in Tampa?
Pricing is the same across Orlando and Tampa:
Base experience: $199 for three hours with up to three children. This includes the character babysitter and parent updates throughout the evening. A second character can be added for $149 (six children maximum with two characters).
Extra hours: $50 per hour per character beyond the base three hours.
Duo add-on: $149 to add a second character for larger groups or sibling variety.
For context, standard babysitting in the Tampa area runs $15 to $22 per hour depending on the sitter and the number of kids. A three-hour evening with a regular sitter costs $45 to $66 with zero entertainment value and the usual coin flip on quality and reliability. The character babysitter rate is higher, but the experience is not comparable. Your kids are not just being watched. They are having the time of their lives.
Tampa Date Night Ideas While the Sitter Is There
Once the character babysitter arrives and the kids are happily distracted, here are some spots worth checking out.
Bern's Steak House. The legendary Tampa steakhouse that has been on every "best restaurant" list for decades. The Harry Waugh Dessert Room upstairs is worth the visit on its own.
Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City. The oldest restaurant in Florida, serving Cuban and Spanish food since 1905. Go on a night with flamenco dancing for the full experience.
Oxford Exchange. Brunch, coffee, cocktails, and a bookstore in one of the most beautiful buildings in Tampa. Perfect for a daytime date while the kids are with a character sitter.
Armature Works. The food hall and event space on the Tampa Riverwalk with waterfront views, cocktails, and a great atmosphere for a casual evening.
St. Pete dining scene. Downtown St. Petersburg has exploded with excellent restaurants. The Mill, Rococo Steak, Stillwater Tavern, and the rooftop bars on Beach Drive are all worth the trip across the bridge.
Clearwater Beach sunset. Sometimes the best date night is the simplest one. Watch the sunset from Pier 60, grab dinner at Frenchy's or Island Way Grill, and enjoy the fact that no one is asking you for chicken nuggets.
